We have been working with some cub scouts on their entertainer badge. The cubs danced the reel and the shepherds hey. The reel involved some fast footwork and sticking. The shepherds hey involved a lot of clapping.
During the interval they were entertained by the sight of Martin dancing a jig.
Peter (pipe and tabour) and Richard (melodeon) provided the live music.
We had an enjoyable dance-out at our Squire’s local pub near Wakefield. 3 musicians and 8 dancers on a pleasant summer evening.
On Wednesday 5th June we will be dancing out at Wakefield. Expect some jolly traditional Morris dancing with live music! Accordion plus pipe and tabour.
Five dance sides will be performing in Doncaster Town Centre on Saturday May 18th 2019. There are just two dance spots, one is in Frenchgate in the White Swan area up to Clock Corner, the other is around the corner where Printing Office Street and St Sepulchre Gate meet (not far from The Little Plough Pub).
Come along an enjoy some Morris dancing in the town centre, various locations including near the Woolmarket and Masons Arms area.
We’ve recently received a new board for advertising, informing, and possibly for recruiting men to our all-male dance side.
Come along to the Mayday Family Funday at Cusworth Hall on Sunday May 5th. We’ll be dancing during the afternoon.
